Future events

Dame Lorna Muirhead, former President of the Royal College of Midwives and current Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, will address the WINGS group from 2-4pm on Monday 12th March. All welcome.

The Liverpool Festival Choir will sing a concert of choral music commemorating the Passion and Resurrection of Christ on Saturday 17th March, 7:30pm. All funds raised will support St Barnabas.

Ruby Porter MBE, founder of the Sreepur Village charity which provides refuge and support for abused women in Bangladesh, will be offering for sale embroidery made by the women she supports, from 11am-4pm, from 22nd to 24th March.

Stainer’s Crucifixion will be sung at St Matthew and St James’ church, Mossley Hill, at 8pm on Tuesday 27th March (Tuesday in Holy Week). Come and hear the Victorians’ answer to the St Matthew Passion.

The a cappella group Amici Cantores (Soundcloud profile here) will be singing music for the season on Saturday 31st March (Holy Saturday), 7:30pm.

books, plants and cake sale will be held on 12th May, 2pm-4pm, and again on 16th June, at the same time.

Celebrations of The Beatles will take place on Saturday 25th August from 11am-4pm (we are on Penny Lane, as we may have mentioned once or twice).

The Mersey Legends – a Merseybeat band that evokes the music of the early 60s – will perform a concert on Monday 27th August (August Bank Holiday), time to be confirmed. Mersey Legends website.

Table Sale to be held on Saturday 22nd September, 1-4pm.

The New Era Folk Group will perform on Friday 12th October, time tbc, followed by a Fish and Chip Supper.

Ruby Porter will return from 22nd-27th October.

The Christmas Fayre is due to be held on 3rd November. As is well known, the dating of Christmas is a subject of debate among church historians, and therefore we have elected to follow the Tesco definition.
